Squad 16 operates at Oaklyn Deli fire

Sunday, January 31, 2016   Squad 16 was dispatched on the All Hands box for a working fire at Amato Brothers Deli on the White Horse Pike in Oaklyn.  The crew from the squad stretched a back up line as the initial crew was searching for the fire.  Crews located a fire in the back room.  Fire was brought under control quickly with no injuries.  



Squad 16 operates at Gloucester City house fire

Wednesday, January 20, 2016   Squad 16 was dispatched on the initial alarm as part of Task Force 5 for a house fire on King Street.  Gloucester City units arrived with fire conditions in the kitchen.  Squad 16 stretched a back up line for protection.  The fire was brought under control with no injuries to firefighters.  



Squad 16 operates at overturned tanker in Pennsauken

Monday, January 11, 2016   Squad 16 was dispatched to Pennsauken on Rt. 130 in the area of the pub for an overturned tanker.  Crews arrived to find a tanker sitting on its side leaking fuel.  Squad 16 crew assisted in controlling the fuel spill as well as establishing a water supply.  Crews remained on location for several hours until the incident was controlled.

Wednesday, December 23, 2015   Today Chiefs and members of the Collingswood, Pennsauken and Camden Fire Departments gathered with the Mayor's of the respective towns and Congressman Norcross to announce the purchase of SCBA Equipment from the $1.7 million AFG Grant. This was a great collaborative effort to attain grant funds for a large capital purchase that will standardize an important piece of equipment in the three Departments.



Squad 16 operates at Pennsauken All Hands Fire

Monday, December 21, 2015   At 2 p.m. Squad 16 was dispatched along with Pennsauken units for a reported house fire on Lexington Ave in Pennsauken.  Squad 16 arrived and went into operation with a hand line for heavy fire conditions on the 2nd floor.  A back up line was placed in service.  Searches were negative in the dwelling.  The fire was knocked down and placed under control with no injuries to firefighters. Firefighters from Pennsauken,Collingswood, Cherry Hill and Westmont operated on the fire ground. 



Motor Vehicle Crash

Thursday, December 17, 2015 2305  Shortly after 11:00 pm Collingswood Squad and BLS 16 responded to a motor vehicle crash. They arrived to find a vehicle had taken down a pole, traffic light and some wires. Squad company called for PSE&G and State DOT to assist in the remediation. No injuries were reported at the scene. 



Parade of Lights

Friday, December 11, 2015   The annual Parade of Lights will take place on December 11, 2015.  Fire Trucks and floats will line the Ave from Zane to Homestead starting at 7:30 p.m.  Santa will be making an appearance on the last truck.  



Car into Cooper River

Saturday, December 5, 2015 03:36  Cooper River Task Force 16 was dispatched to Cooper River for a vehicle into the river with people trapped. Squad 16, Engine 1132, Rescue 15 and Rescue 13 responded. Squad 16 arrived to find a vehicle on its side with two people trapped. Squad 16's crew donned water rescue suits and entered the water. They found two victims inside and worked to free the victims and take them to the shore where they were transferred to Westmont EMS and transported to the hospital for evaluation. 



Santa around town

Monday, November 30, 2015   The Collingswood Fire Department will be escorting Santa around town starting December 14.  He will be passing your house on your leaf pick up day(weather permitting)  between the hours of 6pm-8pm.  



Squad 16 operates at Westmont house fire

Thursday, November 26, 2015   Squad 16 was dispatched on the All Hands house fire in Westmont on Thanksgiving night.  The crew of 5 arrived and assisted Westmont firefighters with heavy fire conditions on the first floor of the house.  One resident was transported to the hospital.  No injuries to firefighters.
